This is an expansion of the study on the Home page. There were so many texts referring to Jesus being subject to His Father that they would have been overwhelming for that study. Since there were so many, I thought that they should be posted somewhere for anyone who is really interested in seeing a more complete picture of the relationship between The Father and the Son of God.

5.22 For the Father judgeth no man, but hath committed all judgment unto the Son: 5.23 That all men should honour the Son, even as they honour the Father. He that honoureth not the Son honoureth not the Father which hath sent him. 5.24 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that heareth my word, and believeth on him that sent me, hath everlasting life, and shall not come into condemnation; but is passed from death unto life. 5.26 For as the Father hath life in himself; so hath he given to the Son to have life in himself; 5.27 And hath given him authority to execute judgment also, because he is the Son of man. 5.30 I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me.

John 17.1

These words spake Jesus, and lifted up his eyes to heaven, and said, Father, the hour is come; glorify thy Son, that thy Son also may glorify thee: 17.2 As thou hast given him power over all flesh, that he should give eternal life to as many as thou hast given him. 17.3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
17.4 I have glorified thee on the earth: I have finished the work which thou gavest me to do.
17.6 I have manifested thy name unto the men which thou gavest me out of the world: thine they were, and thou gavest them me; and they have kept thy word. 17.7 Now they have known that all things whatsoever thou hast given me are of thee. 17.8 For I have given unto them the words which thou gavest me; and they have received them, and have known surely that I came out from thee, and they have believed that thou didst send me. 17.9 I pray for them: I pray not for the world, but for them which thou hast given me; for they are thine. 17.10 And all mine are thine, and thine are mine; and I am glorified in them. 17.11 Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are And now I am no more in the world, but these are in the world, and I come to thee. Holy Father, keep through thine own name those whom thou hast given me, that they may be one, as we are. 17.12 While I was with them in the world, I kept them in thy name: those that thou gavest me I have kept, and none of them is lost, but the son of perdition; that the scripture might be fulfilled.

I John 4.14

And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world.

God, who at sundry times and in divers manners spake in time past unto the fathers by the prophets, 1.2 Hath in these last days spoken unto us by his Son, whom he hath appointed heir of all things, by whom also he made the worlds; 1.3 Who being the brightness of his glory, and the express image of his person, and upholding all things by the word of his power, when he had by himself purged our sins, sat down on the right hand of the Majesty on high; 1.4 Being made so much better than the angels, as he hath by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they. 1.5 For unto which of the angels said he at any time, Thou art my Son, this day have I begotten thee? And again, I will be to him a Father, and he shall be to me a Son? 1.6 And again, when he bringeth in the firstbegotten into the world, he saith, And let all the angels of God worship him. 1.7 And of the angels he saith, Who maketh his angels spirits, and his ministers a flame of fire. 1.8 But unto the Son he saith, Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: a sceptre of righteousness is the sceptre of thy kingdom. 1.9 Thou hast loved righteousness, and hated iniquity; therefore God, even thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.

Revelation 3.21

To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

As seen so far in this Bible study, there are only two divine beings.
They are not co-eternal in the sense that they have both been in existence from eternity past.
If Jesus is equal to the Father, it must be a granted equality because Jesus plainly states that, “The Father is Greater than I”.
